Why I Use AI (And Why I’m Not Apologizing for It)

I’m not an artist. I’ve tried. I respect the hell out of people who can draw, design, write, or build things from scratch. That takes time, talent, and years of work.
But here’s the reality for me:
I don’t have hundreds of dollars to throw at every idea I have.
I don’t have unlimited time to master every creative skill out there.
And I’ve got a family to support.
So yeah—I use AI.
Not to replace anyone. Not to scam anyone. Not to flood the internet with garbage.
I use it because it lets me bring my ideas to life when I otherwise couldn’t.
For the first time, I can take something that exists in my head and actually build it, see it, improve it, and share it. That’s not “lazy.” That’s using the tools available to me.

“Just pay an artist.”

I hear this one a lot.
And look—I get it. Artists deserve to get paid. No argument there.
But if the expectation is:
“If you can’t afford it the traditional way, then you just don’t get to create at all.
That’s not support—that’s gatekeeping.
AI levels the playing field. It gives people like me a way to create without needing a full budget or a full team.

The Truth About AI

AI isn’t going away. Not even close.
It’s only going to get better, faster, and more integrated into everything we do. You can fight that all you want, but history hasn’t been kind to people who ignore major shifts in technology.
I’d rather learn it, understand it, and use it well than pretend it shouldn’t exist.

Let’s Talk About “AI Slop”

Do I think there’s a lot of low-effort AI garbage out there?
Absolutely.
There’s a difference between:
Spamming out junk for clicks
And actually using AI to create something meaningful
I’m not interested in the first one.
What I’m doing is taking ideas, refining them, working through them, and turning them into something I’m proud of. AI is just part of that process.

What This Really Comes Down To

I’m not here to argue with people who hate AI.
You’re allowed to feel however you want about it.
But I’m also not going to be shamed for:
Learning new tools
Expanding what I can do
Building something for myself and my family
If using AI helps me create, grow, and move forward—then I’m going to keep using it.
Simple as that.

Final Thought

At the end of the day, this isn’t about AI vs. artists.
It’s about people adapting, learning, and finding ways to create in a world that’s changing fast.
I chose to adapt.
You can take it or leave it—but that’s where I stand.
